Course information
If you have a passion for working with children and want to build a foundation for a career in childcare, this course is an ideal starting point. The NCFE Award in Caring for a Child/Children (Entry Level 3) is designed for learners with little or no previous experience. It provides a gentle introduction to the knowledge and skills required to care for young children in a home or nursery setting, while also boosting your confidence in learning.
Throughout the course, you will explore key topics such as the importance of play, healthy eating and keeping children safe. You will also learn about routines, positive behaviour and how to support a child’s development. The course is delivered in a supportive and friendly learning environment where you’ll be guided by experienced tutors who understand how to help learners progress at their own pace. This is a great first step if you're returning to education or preparing to enter the childcare sector.
Whether your goal is to support your own children more effectively, volunteer in early years settings, or begin your journey towards a career in childcare, this course will help you build the knowledge and confidence you need. Successful completion can also lead to further training at Level 1 or 2 in childcare or education support.
