Course information
This practical course introduces learners to SAGE Business Cloud Accounting software and shows you how to complete everyday financial tasks using a digital platform. It’s ideal for individuals who already have some basic bookkeeping knowledge such as those who have completed the AAT Level 1 Award in Bookkeeping and want to expand their skills into cloud based accounting.
You’ll learn how to use SAGE Business Cloud Accounting to manage finances efficiently and accurately, gaining confidence in handling key tasks such as entering transactions, managing accounts and reconciling records online. This is an excellent choice if you’re aiming for a career in finance, want to enhance your digital accounting skills, or are planning to support a small business.
This course requires a good level of digital skills, including the ability to manage files, work across multiple screens and navigate online platforms. If you’re unsure about your current ability, we may recommend enrolling in our Advanced Digital Skills course before or alongside your studies.

What you will learn
By the end of this course, you will understand how to apply bookkeeping knowledge using a modern cloud-based accounting system. Topics include:
Review core principles such as financial documents, double-entry bookkeeping and transaction types.
Learn how to record payments and receipts, reconcile accounts and manage bank transactions.
Gain hands on experience with SAGE Business Cloud Accounting, including setting up accounts, inputting transactions, generating reports and understanding real time data access.
How you will be assessed
You must complete 4 mandatory units and earn 9 credits to gain certification. To achieve these credits, you will complete self assessments and practice tests, followed by final online assessments.
Progression opportunities
After completing this course, you may wish to continue developing your financial skills with the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or pursue further training in digital finance systems or business administration. This qualification can also support career opportunities in roles such as accounts assistant, bookkeeping support, or finance administrator in businesses that use cloud-based platforms.
Entry requirements
Before enroling you will need to complete a short assessment to make sure this course is suitable for you. The session will last for around 2 hours, you will watch a short presentation on our AAT offer, followed by a short assessment in English and Maths.
