Introducing our New Ceramics Tutor and Courses

Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service are excited to announce that we have a new ceramics tutor joining our team! Jade Holt is an experienced ceramic artist who is passionate about sharing her knowledge and skills with others. She will be delivering five new ceramics courses starting soon, so whether you are a beginner or an experienced ceramicist, there is a course for you.

Ceramics Beginners:

This course is perfect for anyone who has never worked with clay before. You will learn the basics of hand-building techniques, including pinch pots, coil pots, and slab building. By the end of the course, you will have created your own unique pieces to take home.

Ceramics Improvers:

If you have some experience working with clay and want to improve your skills, this course is for you. You will learn more advanced hand-building techniques and have the opportunity to try your hand at wheel-throwing. You will also learn how to decorate and glaze your pieces to achieve different effects.

Ceramic Studio Practice:

This course is designed for experienced ceramicists who want to work on their own projects in a supportive and creative environment. You will have access to all the equipment and materials you need to create your own pieces, with guidance and advice from our expert tutor.

Ceramic Jewellery:

This course focuses on creating unique and beautiful ceramic jewellery pieces. You will learn how to create pendants, earrings, and other accessories using a range of techniques. You will also learn how to fire and glaze your pieces to achieve different effects.

Mindful Ceramics:

This course is all about using ceramics as a way to relax and unwind. You will learn how to use clay to create simple, meditative pieces that are designed to help you switch off and de-stress.

All of our ceramics courses are suitable for adults of all ages and abilities. They are a great way to learn a new skill, meet new people, and get creative.
