Do you want to feel more comfortable speaking English?
We run English Conversation Clubs where you can practise speaking English in small groups, in an informal, relaxed environment. These take place every week (during term time) in several location across the borough, including libraries.
Take a look at the clubs listed below to see which works best for you. There is no charge for attending, you can go to as many clubs in a week as you like, and you don't need to book in advance - just show up and join in!
There are also online conversation clubs, using Zoom, that you can join from home.

Again, there is no limit to the number of Zoom clubs you can attend in a week.

Become a Conversation Club Volunteer
Local volunteers lead our community Conversation Clubs which have proven to be a hugely successful programme since starting in 2016.
Volunteers attend a free five-week training course to learn how to support groups of adults who have English as a second language. The training courses are City and Guilds-accredited.
