Entry Level 1–3 Functional Skills Maths

Entry Level Functional Skills Maths is designed for learners who are building confidence with basic numeracy. These courses focus on everyday maths skills such as counting, measuring, using money, and understanding simple data. Learners develop accuracy and confidence in applying maths to familiar, real-life situations.

Progression Opportunities:
Entry Level courses provide a strong foundation for further study, leading to Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills Maths, and eventually to GCSE or vocational training.

Functional Skills Maths – Level 1 and Level 2

Functional Skills Maths at Level 1 and Level 2 helps learners develop practical maths skills for work, study and daily life. Level 1 focuses on core areas such as whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and problem solving in everyday contexts. Level 2 builds on these skills, introducing more complex tasks like interpreting data, working with ratios, and applying maths in professional or academic settings.

Progression Opportunities:
Level 1 leads to Level 2 Functional Skills. Level 2 is equivalent to a GCSE pass and can support access to further education, employment, or vocational qualifications.

GCSE Math

GCSE Maths develops a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving techniques. Learners study topics such as algebra, geometry, statistics and number operations, preparing them for further education, apprenticeships, or careers that require strong maths skills.

Progression Opportunities:
A GCSE in Maths is widely recognised by colleges, universities and employers, and can support access to higher-level study and career pathways.
